In this article, I will show you how you can use ChatGPT effectively to create presentations – with a creative twist: by putting the AI in a fictitious role.


Why a fictitious role for ChatGPT?

Writing a prompt where ChatGPT has a specific role gives the AI clear requirements and context. The more specific and unusual this role is, the more targeted the AI’s response will be. For today’s example, ChatGPT has been assigned the role of assistant to the best TED Talk speakers in the world. Why exactly this role? TED Talk speakers stand for inspiring, precise and entertaining talks – a benchmark that can enhance many presentations.


The structure of the prompt

A successful prompt has structure. Here’s how to create the perfect prompt for presentations:

1. define the role

Start with a clear description of the role you want ChatGPT to play. In the example it reads:
“You are an assistant to the best TED Talk speakers in the world.”

2. specify the main task

What should the AI do? In the case of presentations, the task is clear:
“Create unique presentation content.”

3. context and target group

The more precisely the target group is described, the more relevant the content will be. One example:
“The target group is medical professionals with no experience of artificial intelligence or ChatGPT.”

This description allows the AI to adapt its answers to the target group’s level of knowledge and needs.

4. integrate your own content

If you have existing content such as blogs, files or links, you should cite these as a source of information. This makes the content created more personal and specific.

5. objectives and framework conditions

What do you want to achieve with the presentation? The goal here was clear:
“Communicate the speaker’s professional expertise and generate follow-up orders.”
Framework conditions such as the number of slides (20-25) and the duration of the presentation (approx. 20 minutes) also help the AI to structure the content optimally.
