The well-known chatbot ChatGPT was released by the American company OpenAI at the end of November 2022. ChatGPT uses the methods of Generative AI. Generative AI methods have been known for much longer. However, the release of ChatGPT and the possibility that suddenly anyone can use Generative AI technologies has taken the topic to a whole new level. Generative AI is no longer just another field of research; new tools, new business cases, new start-ups and new areas of application using generative AI are coming onto the market every day.
The following trend report aims to show how companies from the DACH region are already using Generative AI today or intend to use it in the near future.
The trend report also shows some practical examples of companies that were already successfully using generative AI or tools such as ChatGPT at the time of the report.
At the same time, this trend report should also be seen as a kind of experiment. The entire report is written in collaboration with an AI or in collaboration with ChatGPT, so to speak. Throughout the report, it is very clearly marked where the AI has contributed and which parts have been written exclusively by the authors themselves. In most cases, the prompt will also be disclosed if the AI has recorded it. Prompts are instructions that humans give the AI to complete a specific task. The authors are aware that some of the prompts contain spelling mistakes and are not always perfectly formatted. However, the results show that an AI usually delivers surprisingly impressive results despite spelling mistakes in the instructions.
