What is Generative AI?
Generative AI is a type of artificial intelligence (AI) that aims to create something new, such as texts, images, music or videos. Unlike other types of AI, which are designed to analyze existing information or perform specific tasks, generative AI attempts to create something new based on what it has learned from a large amount of data. It uses patterns and structures in the data to generate new content that is similar to what it has seen before. It is, so to speak, a creative machine that is able to think and create in a way that was previously only possible for humans. Generative AI is used in many areas, from art and entertainment to research and development.
Generative AI and ChatGPT
And now comes ChatGPT. ChatGPT is an example of a chatbot that uses GPT (Generative Pretrained Transformer) technology to generate human-like texts. Through training on millions of Internet texts, ChatGPT has learned to communicate in natural language and respond to a variety of prompts. While conventional chatbots could usually only communicate in very simple language and could only talk about very limited topics, ChatGPT can have really natural-sounding conversations and has a very broad range of knowledge and topics. ChatGPT can not only generate answers to questions, it can also create texts and much more for us. I explained the question “What is ChatGPT?” in more detail in one of my last posts.
Generative AI – something for CEOs too?
Generative AI is at least as important for CEOs as it is for all other colleagues. As CEO, you need to understand the background to the new technology. You must be able to assess the opportunities and risks. What’s more, you should know what steps and decisions you need to take next in order to remain competitive in the future. Competitive in terms of customers and employees.
