Strategies, tools and best practices for successful integration
by Sophie Hundertmark and Dr. Daniela Suter
Our new specialist book Generative AI for companies – strategies, tools and best practices for successful integration is available online and in bookstores. I wrote the book together with my colleague Dr. Daniela Suter.
The aim is to give managers, team leaders and other decision-makers a well-founded overview of the background, opportunities, challenges and best practices for the use of Generative AI in companies.

Foreword
We are in an age in which algorithms not only create, analyze and evaluate data, but also generate innovative content, produce artistic works and even solve problems. Generative AI is revolutionizing the way companies operate, how products and services are brought to market and even how decisions are made. Private investments in Generative AI reached USD 25.23 billion in 2023, almost nine times as much as investments in 2022 and thus more than a quarter of all private AI-related investments. But what does this mean in concrete terms for you as a manager?
As a consultant and speaker in the field of generative AI, chatbots and AI tools, we are confronted with a wide variety of questions on a daily basis. In addition to technical issues, there are also many questions about ethics, data protection and employee management.
With this book, we want to give all entrepreneurs, decision-makers, team leaders and anyone else who is interested in new trends a solid introduction to the topic of generative AI. You will receive a competent overview of what Generative AI is all about, what added value and risks the use of this new technology entails and, in the end, you will know how you and your company can use Generative AI sustainably and benefit from it.
For us authors, it is not just a question of everyone using generative AI, but rather we would like to point out the conscious and well thought-out use of this technology. It is also important to take into account the company’s own corporate values and to pick up employees with different backgrounds and opinions. In order to give you, the reader, as comprehensive, holistic and in-depth an insight as possible into the many facets of Generative AI, we have consulted selected experts for individual chapters. We have only chosen experts that we have known for many years and with whom we have worked ourselves.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the guest authors who have contributed to this book, namely: Andreas Görög, Carla Kasper, Christine Schmidhalter, Dr. Marcel Blattner, Dr. Nina Reichert, Dr. Rodolphe Dewarrat, Dr. Thomas Müller, Jan Donaj, Luzia Billeter, Martin Steiger, Matthias Falland, Nadine Schade, Orestis Floros, Prof. Dr. Claudia Bünnig, Prof. Dr. Claudia Bünnig and Dr. Thomas Müller. Practical examples from companies that have already successfully introduced Generative AI are an important part of the book. Companies report on their experiences in a wide variety of generative AI projects.
The practical examples are supplemented by templates and guidelines, which readers can download free of charge from the Internet (link and password in the appendix of the book).
Does the book also contain information on data protection and the legal status?
We worked together with a lawyer to answer (data protection) legal questions. Martin Steiger not only answered important questions, but also wrote a guest article in which he clearly explains both the background to data protection and the current developments regarding the EU AI Act.

This basic knowledge is important in order to be able to properly assess the extent of the new technological developments.
