Almost 1 year after the release of ChatGPT, I wanted to know what the experience around ChatGPT Prompts is like within the German-speaking population.
I conducted a survey with over 80 participants in October 2023 and summarized the results in the following presentation.
Prompting becomes the new “art”
I was particularly surprised that even almost 1 year after ChatGPT, prompting still doesn’t work perfectly for everyone.
Although almost all respondents use ChatGPT daily or at least weekly, most of them have to optimize every prompt at least once.
When it comes to which prompts users actually use, the following prompts are way ahead:
- “Give me ideas for…”
- “Rewrite this text…”
- “Summarize the text…”

Lack of competence
In addition to the familiar challenges of incorrect answers or a lack of data protection, the lack of internal expertise is also a major challenge. Many users do not know exactly how to use ChatGPT and what they can use it for.

First internal guidelines
The survey also shows that the first companies have started to draw up internal guidelines for employees. I currently have a few active projects myself and will certainly report more on this in the future 😉
