Weekly Prompt: How to generate creative content ideas with AI
It’s time again for the Weekly Prompt! Today it’s about a question that came from the community – specifically from Yannick, the colleague who edits my YouTube videos. He wanted to know: Is there a good prompt template to generate creative content ideas? And that’s exactly what we’re looking at today.
A universal prompt for content ideas
For this Weekly Prompt, I’ve deliberately shown the approach with SwissGPT, but you can use it with any AI-powered chat tool – be it ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity or another of your choice. The prompt itself remains universally applicable.
Here are the key ingredients:
- Define your target group: In my case, I said that I’m a movie theater speaker on AI topics and regularly create content for my blog.
- Define the target group: I kept my target group broad and included SMEs as well as B2B companies, large corporations and NGOs. The common denominator: everyone is interested in the safe and responsible use of AI.
- Specification of the request: I asked to generate 15 fresh, creative and relevant content ideas.
- Additional criteria: To ensure that the ideas are really valuable, I have set the following requirements:
- They should pick up on current trends.
- They should offer added value.
- They should be emotionally appealing.
- They are designed to promote interaction with the community.
- Additions: Additionally, I asked that each idea include a brief description as well as hashtags for social media.
Why real-time data is important
One exciting aspect of SwissGPT was that the tool asked me whether it should use real-time data. As I explicitly wanted to incorporate current trends, I naturally allowed this. This ensures that the proposals are not only universally valid, but are really geared towards the latest developments.
Prompt fine-tuning and critical thinking
Of course you can customize the prompt even further. Perhaps current trends are less important to you or you would like to focus more on sales-promoting content instead of interaction. It is worth experimenting here and adapting the prompt individually.
It also shows once again that AI tools are not flawless. During my test run, SwissGPT did not implement the numbering quite correctly. This is a good example of why you should always use common sense to check what an AI tool gives you. Copy-paste is rarely the best solution!
Thinking ahead: From the first draft to the content strategy
You can not only use the ideas generated as inspiration, but also develop them further. For example:
- You can request more in-depth content on individual topics.
- You can develop special formats such as blog articles, LinkedIn posts or white papers.
- You can link trends with your own experiences or opinions.
Conclusion: Creative content ideas made easy
With a well thought-out prompt and a little fine-tuning, you can generate a large number of relevant content ideas in just a few minutes. The key is to set the right parameters and critically evaluate the results. Try it out, adapt the prompt to your needs and be inspired!
