Chatbots don’t always have to be intelligent. Chatbots can also be used quite simply instead of a pop-up. This type of bot is not intelligent. But if the concept is right, they still generate good and qualified leads. And they can be implemented extremely quickly.
The initial situation and challenge
A few days ago, I created a new template for designing the chatbot personality and writing chat dialogs. By the way, you can find it here. Now I asked myself how I could make my target group aware of the new template as quickly as possible.
Sending out another newsletter would be too intrusive. A LinkedIn post certainly can’t hurt, but it doesn’t reach everyone. It is much more important to me that I can quickly reach the users who already visit my website.
The solution – a chatbot instead of a pop-up
A small, simple chatbot that greets all users of my blog and draws their attention directly to my new template. In other words, a chatbot instead of a pop-up.
The implementation
1. select chatbot platform
This is a simple and quick use case. So I need a tool that allows me to create chatbot stories quickly and easily and to integrate them into my website without any complications.
I like to use aiaibot.com for this kind of thing. Here I can write stories quickly and easily, integrate media and only need to integrate a small code on my WordPress page and give the chatbot story the appropriate trigger. Since I already have chatbots from aiaibot on my website anyway, the code is already integrated and I only have to set the trigger correctly.
2. target definition
What is the goal of my simple chatbot? Clearly, the chatbot should draw the attention of all website visitors to my new template and, if possible, motivate them to download it. As soon as the download has been made, I have the lead in my CRM. If the user does not want to make a download, the bot should refer the visitor to my other chatbot resources, such as podcasts, blogs or events, in the second step.
3. personality of the chatbot
I have created a new template for this purpose. I have filled this out. Above all, the bot should communicate simply. It can also be a bit humorous with a few emojis. And he should use a few pictures.
4. define chatbot content
Once I have defined the personality and tonality of the chatbot, the dialogs have to be written. Special content such as images must also be prepared. If you want things to go quickly, it is sometimes advisable to write and test the chat dialogs in aiaibot’s story builder right from the start. This saves duplication of work by not first writing the dialogs on paper.
5. test, set the trigger and you’re done
As soon as all dialogs are integrated in the story builder, the bot must be tested. Careful testing is essential, especially when everything seems to be moving a little fast. As soon as the chatbot test has been successfully completed, the respective triggers must be set. Setting the triggers determines when the bot should appear. For example, it may make sense for the chatbot to only start when the user has already been on the landing page for XX seconds.
The success of the chatbot instead of pop-up
With the chatbot instead of a pop-up, I generate at least one new lead every day. The important thing is that the leads are already qualified. I can assume that those who come to my website, chat with the chatbot and then download a template are really interested in a chatbot. The chatbot can also be found on this page and can be tested directly 😉
You don’t believe it, have questions about it or want a chatbot like this? Then why not book a consultation with me? You can do that right here.
