In this article, I will show you a selected tool for creating podcasts with AI and explain how I use this tool to create my podcast“News from Sophie’s AI Assistant” completely automatically.
What are generative AI tools?
ChatGPT is one of the best-known generative AI tools. This tool uses Generative AI methods to generate its answers. ChatGPT is very generic and not very focused on individual use cases. However, there are many other generative AI tools that focus on very specific applications such as podcast creation, meeting notes processing, research, image creation and many more. Why Generative AI Tools?
Generative AI tools are revolutionizing almost everyone’s day-to-day work. They help to optimize work processes, understand customers better and design campaigns more effectively. Many generative AI tools have precisely the capabilities that we sometimes lack. An AI tool can help me to create images if I am not artistically talented myself. Or the Generative AI tool can carry out research for me and thus make my work more efficient.
How do I use Generative AI for podcast creation?
When creating podcasts with Generative AI, a distinction is made between two types of support:
1. AI support in editing the original recordings and in publishing
2. completely AI-supported podcast creation

Do you want to benefit from AI tools in the podcast creation and publishing process, but still want to be in control of the actual recording? Then the first option is certainly the right choice for you. Here, most podcast publishing tools already offer advanced integrated AI tools to support the podcast host. For example, I have been using the Buzzsprout tool for years and have now been able to unlock all AI tools by upgrading my subscription. The sound quality of Sophie’s Next AI Talk is now optimized using AI tools. I can even write show notes and other texts, such as social media posts.
Of course, you can also use the well-known tools such as ChatGPT or SwissGPT from AlpineAI to get tips for your podcast. For example, you can ask SwissGPT to create interview questions for you. You can also use SwissGPT to create a suitable introduction for your interview partner. Or you can ask ChatGPT to create a podcast visual.
Completely AI-supported podcast creation
You don’t really want to have anything more to do with podcast creation? Then you need an AI tool that creates the podcast from scratch, including audio files. In this case, you will of course still have to think about the content yourself, but you can pass your wishes and thoughts on content and form directly to the AI tool.
I use the AI tool Wondercraft to create my podcast completely automatically.

What can the Wondercraft AI tool do?
Wondercraft has focused on the creation of podcasts and other audio formats. The tool offers a variety of templates (mostly prompt templates) that support the user in creating any audio content.
Users can decide for themselves whether they want the tool to compile the content or whether they want to provide the content in the form of blog posts, news articles or book chapters.
The Wondercraft AI tool then always creates a written script first. This script can be modified and supplemented by the user as required. Only when the user “releases” the script does Wondercraft produce the podcast recording in the selected language and with the selected voice and automatically publishes it in the user’s podcast stream.

I mostly use my own blog posts or selected posts by other authors (only with the author’s consent).
I recently read an interesting article by Stéphane Mingot on how companies can successfully use conversational AI. The content of the article is very well prepared and at the same time I was afraid that many readers would not have enough time to read this long and well-researched article in detail.
I then asked Stéphane if my“AI Assistant” could publish the article as a podcast.
Create script with prompt template
Wondercraft offers ready-made prompt templates for creating a podcast from a blog. I have selected the appropriate prompt for this episode, added the link to the blog post from the Adnovum website and clicked on “Create”.

Release script
In the next step, the AI tool creates the ready-made podcast script. As a user, I then have the option of customizing the texts, adding music and other content.
I usually add individual passages of music and, of course, add the references. I deliberately don’t change anything else in the script. At this point, I would like to show my listeners what AI tools can already do today or where their limits may lie.

Now the podcast is ready to be published. I set the basic settings of the podcast in advance (RSS feed, podcast platforms) and everything is now automatically published on Spotify, Google Podcasts or Apple Podcasts.
